The 302 MW Lincoln Land Wind project in Morgan County, Illinois has chosen GE Renewable Energy to supply its 2.82-127 onshore wind turbines.
The wind farm is owned by funds managed by Ares Management Corp's Infrastructure and Power strategy. Ares completed preconstruction milestones such as securing turbines, financing (tax equity and debt), and other project contracts. Apex Clean Energy led the development of Lincoln Land Wind, and Ares completed preconstruction milestones such as securing turbines, financing (tax equity and debt), and other project contracts. A 20-year full-service agreement is included in the GE relationship. It is expected that the project will be completed by the end of the year.
Lincoln Land will use 107 of GE's 2.82-127 turbines, which the American Clean Power Association just named the most extensively deployed turbine in the United States in 2020. (ACPA). Through separate power purchase agreements, the wind farm will offer 126 MW of renewable energy to McDonald's and about 175 MW to Facebook, as previously reported (PPAs).
For the third year in a row, the ACPA named GE Renewable Energy as the top wind turbine producer in the United States in 2020. According to the ACPA, GE technology was used in 53 percent of new capacity increases and 31 percent of new projects under construction or in advanced development that have chosen an OEM. The project's tax equity is provided by GE Energy Financial Services.
